Well... it's a training programme for Young Leaders! By working to complete a series of modules and missions, Young Leaders gain skills and knowledge to be successful in their volunteering role working with younger members of Scouts.
Explorer Scouts volunteering as a Young Leader can fulfil the service elements of many of the top awards in Scouts, or their Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
Although the scheme is usually taken on by Explorer Scouts, young people from outside Scouting can also participate if they are working towards their Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards or King's Guide Award. They do this by volunteering as non-members for a set period of time.
Speak to your Explorer Unit leader, they will help you understand more about the scheme and where to get started.
If you can't contact your leader, email young.leaders@portsmouthscouts.org.uk and someone will contact you.
We need your name and parent/carer contact details - this MUST include a valid email address and phone number
Please include a brief statement of why you think Scouts is the right place for your volunteering. This just helps us get to know you and start thinking about where you might be able to help.
Hampshire Scouts want our young leaders to be prepared for their time supporting our sections and the training modules are there to help.
